Nothing much needs to happen today, so nothing happened.
It was just a day of rest, catching up with people over
Internet, and absolutely nothing achieved.....on this cloudy day in Salta.
Everyone seems to let their hair down today....especially in
the evening, when most of our group did the “Blood Bombing” drink, a concoction of some serious stuff, apparently a
tradition of this place....and everything went wild after that until late into
the night.......and Will our Captain Driver, was very drunk and
disappeared.....
The morning after...
The morning after...
After a lazy morning,
3 of us went out to town by bus.
Walking around in Salta is for me the first time, though I
came through here last year, but it was just an overnight stay, before heading
east towards Corriente and Iguazu.
The town has its charms, and the usual Spanish Colonial town square, never without a Cathedral.
We were welcomed enthusiastically into the Parliament House, and shown the chamber of the deputies. The very friendly guards even gave us a DVD of the place.
The Spanish brought their religion to exploit the superstitious locals, and the English brought their public services and disciplines.....and there are historical results for all to see.

It was a very quiet and early night for everyone, as we have to start early again for a long
journey which will include crossing the border into Bolivia.
